The Storyteller of East LA explores memory loss, caregiving, and family conflict through the story of Mercedes, a 90-year-old woman with dementia. As her family faces difficult choices and caregivers confront immigration fears, love, compassion, and storytelling guide them through life’s hardest moments.

Recommended for ages 12 and up
Content Warnings: Coarse language, discussions of ice raids, depictions of dementia.
